Create a Revit study
The current IFC can become a native RVT through Revit's own importer. This saves a Revit file; it does not establish verified dimensions, editable parametric families or LOD 250 acceptance.
- Download the BIM study
- In your licensed Revit installation, use File → Open → IFC. Choose the file. Set the project's intended IFC template/category mapping first if required.
- Review the imported model, then Save As → Project to a new .rvt file. Keep the original IFC.
For future revisions, link an IFC into a separate Revit host to support reloading. Opening an IFC creates a snapshot; it does not automatically receive later GO3D updates.
Optional conversion helper
A technician can review and place this script in an existing pyRevit IronPython pushbutton. Run it inside Revit, choose the IFC and a new RVT filename. It uses Autodesk's importer, refuses existing output files, saves, reopens, and writes a receipt with file hashes, Revit version, element counts and warning counts. Source files stay local.
Runtime validation pending: this helper has automated control-flow checks but has not been run in a real Revit installation here. No RVT has been produced by GO3D in this session.
Before accepting the model
Confirm building and level, units and known dimensions, missing areas, categories, fixture identity, and import warnings. Compare geometry with source drawings. Imported geometry may be generic solids rather than editable Revit families. Zero regions are currently accepted at LOD 250.
