SURVEYING, CAPTURE & PROJECT DELIVERY

From field conditions
to project decisions.

My career connects land-development CAD, survey technology, international laser scanning, industrial metrology, product management and technical training. The career record below preserves the employers, dates and source material.

The experience summaries below reflect my professional account. Published project records and professional recommendations follow.

Eddie describes campus-scale aerospace assignments, including Kennedy Space Center, and a three-month Piper Aircraft engagement focused on scanning-workflow automation and training. Restricted technical details and project imagery are not part of this public profile. His experience also includes time-critical scanning and model delivery for COVID testing centers during the pandemic.

SURVEY & CIVIL FOUNDATIONS

Understand the site.

Survey and land-development workflows, citywide utility projects, roads and drainage. Sanitary and storm-drainage systems, terrain and existing conditions all contribute to the same project picture.

UNDERGROUND CONDITIONS

Look below the surface.

Ground-penetrating radar and underground-utility work connect subsurface evidence with the survey, design and construction team. Source confidence and the limits of each observation stay with the data.

POSITIONING & CONSTRUCTION

Carry control into the work.

GPS site calibration, GPS and laser machine control, and robotic construction workflows. The coordinate basis needs to remain useful from field measurement through layout and delivery.

MOBILE MAPPING

Capture at project scale.

Mobile mapping and site capture for race tracks, including Daytona 500 work, and theme-park environments.

INTERNATIONAL LASER SCANNING

Bring the site to the team.

Early terrestrial laser-scanning work included the 2006 Universal Studios Japan assignment with JMR: park-grid control, topographic and terrain deliverables, selected 3D models and point clouds. Published case study [S01]

CONSTRUCTABILITY & LOGISTICS

Test the work sequence.

Virtual assembly, simulation, schedule context and spatial logistics help teams examine access, fit and sequencing. My work connects measured conditions with the practical decisions that follow.

Experience across the full workflow.

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping, Oliveras CAD Design and Southern Laser established the early CAD and survey-technology foundation. JMR, FARO, 3SPACE and McKim & Creed expanded that work into scanning leadership, product management and applied metrology. A different route.
I studied engineering technology at Embry-Riddle and left in 2002. My education continued through work: survey drawings, terrain models, field problems, and my own CAD drafting business. That became the foundation for everything that followed.

2004–2012 · From the field to the world
Making the complicated useful.
Reality capture and digital twins are a central thread in my work. My interests also include virtualization and cybernetics: how physical environments, digital models, and feedback systems connect. Laser scanning took me from JMR to a published project at Universal Studios Japan, then through FARO, 3SPACE, and McKim & Creed. I worked across field capture, applied metrology, training, and sales—learning how to turn new technology into something people could use.
